Why Your Education Is So Important
Education plays a huge part in our lives, from the day we're born, 'til the day we die. As soon as we open our eyes, we are taking things in and learning, and remembering, and storing that information in our minds until we need to pull it up and use it. Education is what defines you as a person, and makes you who you are because knowledge will always alter a person’s personality, regardless of where they come from, how old they are, and what gender they are.
A lot of people may mistake this for worth though, and that is where they go wrong. You see, education doesn't have to come from the most expensive schools in order for it to mean something. It doesn't matter how wealthy you are or what school you're able to attend - the information will still remain the same. Our minds have a process that they follow to attain information, and you can learn more about this from how it starts out as a child and progresses as the years go by.
But if you still need a little more convincing as to why education is so important - here's why.
To have a healthy social life
If you didn't have social skills, you would find it extremely hard to speak to people. You'd most likely be awkward, and self-conscious, and not know what to say as a form of icebreaker or polite chit-chat. When being educated, you will be in classes with many other students your age from the very beginning, and it'll stay this way all throughout school. You learn to adapt to situations and socialize with your peers, essentially building you up to gain friends. This will also help in the adult world, both in your personal life, and your work life.
To have a stable life
Stability is often something that people crave because it's where they seek comfort and peace. If you're constantly living on the edge every day, never knowing whether things are going to be okay and whether they will work out, you will end up becoming miserable and stressed. You won't be able to relax and breathe because you will always have some worry and doubt in the back of your mind. But with a good education, you won't have to feel that way because you know that you have the tools to enjoy all the wonderful things that the world has to offer you, like a secure future.
To have money
The better the education you have, the more chance you have of getting a successful job that you enjoy, but that also pays highly. While they say that money can't buy you happiness, it can still buy you a roof over your head, food, holidays, and most importantly, freedom. You don't want to live a life struggling with the little amount you have on your paycheck every month, so take advantage of education so that you have all the more career opportunities.
To have equality
Education is the secret tool to allow us to live in a world that is fair and offers out equal opportunities for every individual. If you want your life to be about more than just existing, then you need to know about the world around us. Society already seems an unfair place at times with gender-biased pay, and various other social classes, so make it your mission to prove everyone wrong and get to the top, regardless of how you look or what body parts you have.
You have the ability to protect yourself
There are many bad people in the world that work to cheat and steal in order to better themselves, and sometimes, you can fall victim to that and get exploited or fooled. But education teaches you to know better, and recognize when and if this ever happens. So don't be the innocent individual that was too naive to notice something was wrong. Know your rights and freedoms so that you are always able to protect yourself from getting hurt, and even others around you.
To have your independence
Just imagine never having to rely on anyone ever again, because you know that you are fully capable of achieving anything on your own. Not only mentally, by having the necessary knowledge and skills to make your own decision wisely. But also financially, so that you can afford to buy what you need, when you need it, without ever worrying again about having to make a phone call to your parents or taking out a loan with the bank.
To have your dreams become a reality
What is it you aspire to be? What do you often sit and dream about doing with your life? Whatever it is, while they start off as being a far away thing that you never believe you can ever touch with your own hands - it no longer has to feel that way once you have the education down. The degree that you take, and study hard for, and pass exams, and put some much of your time in that you feel like you're going to explode - well that is what is going to get you to your dream. No one said it'll be easy, but if you're determined and have the education to back you up, there's no reason you won't have everything you want in life.
To have confidence
When you attain your educational degree, it's deemed your proof of all the things that you know. It's your bit of paper that says - this is what I can do, this is what I know, this is how good I am. With that degree, you will get your foot in the door, and people will give you a chance and take you seriously. And this in itself will do wonders for your confidence, because you know that people will listen to you, and care to know about your views and opinions while having the confidence to say them freely and honestly.
So now you know all the reasons why education really is such an important part of your life, think about whether you're on the right path.
