Before the cold weather really makes its grand entrance, I had to visit a few exhibits that will be ending soon. Although the weather wasn't the best, we managed to visit about 8 galleries. As I mentioned in a
last year, New York has so many free options to take advantage of--especially when it comes to checking out art.
A walk around the city alone will lead you into the world of an artist at random.
My friend Gabby and I started downtown, Grand Street--Chinatown--and made our way up to the 20s. Fun stuff!
A lot of times you can find yourself in the middle of art and know really understand where the artist was going with the piece. The best part of it all is being able to perceive it in your own way.
I created this helpful itinerary that acted as a fun guide to give us an idea of where we wanted to go, based on @Fomofeed and their recommendations!
We didn't get to view a few on the list, but here are the galleries that we visited. Make sure you check them out before they're gone!
James Cohan Gallery:
From Earth into a
Harem Room 1-
So Many Kittens
Tanya Bonakdar Gallery-
Paula Cooper Gallery-
Lehmann Maupin Gallery-
Silence of the Music
- Mr. Softee
And of course, how could I go to a gallery and not be inspired? I decided to take my talents back home and work on my own paintings. It's so easy to get caught up in the working aspect of life and forget to do things that you have a passion for. Don't lose your light!
Complete painting coming soon. :)
