Avocado, Banana and Coconut Oil Hair Mask
Hey Ladies...and gentlemen (I get a lot of noise from my men followers lol)
I've been yearning to start a routine for both my hair and skin, but I never know where and when to start. Lately my face has been breaking out like crazy. It could be the change in weather, lack of water and exercise, or just puberty taking a stand and returning for the big bang. I'd like to hope it isn't puberty. Still, I have yet to discover which facial routine I'll be tugging on. Eventually, I will find something and share it with you all.
However, I did find a simple at-home mask that is good for both men and women. Whether your hair is long or short, it's perfect for moisturizing our hair, promoting hair growth and stopping that itchy/dry feeling that happens all up in the scalp.
As much as I moisturize the shaft of my hair, I admit that I miss out on the scalp.
SO, are you ready to rumble? No...No rumble here, sorry. Just some awesome hair sauce!
Here's what you'll need. Again, this is a unisex mask and men, don't be afraid to get in the kitchen and mash it up!
The result of this mask with the listed ingredients can be good for 1-2 uses. I was able to use half of my mask and the other half I put away in the freezer for next week.
It's best to do these treatments at least once a week or twice a month. Especially depending on the dryness of your hair and scalp.
Okay, now on to the ingredients, I think I've kept you waiting long enough.
1 Ripe Banana
I've read that it's best to do this mask on damp hair. Unfortunately, I read that after already doing the mask. Good job. That didn't stop the show.
Benefits of Ingredients
Coconut Oil- promotes hair growth and provides a deep nourishment to the scalp and hair. It is also an antibacterial/antifungal that helps to fight dandruff, scalp acne, infections and inflammatory skin conditions. Everyone knows that Coconut oil is like the best thing since sliced bread. There are so many benefits when using it, whether for skin, face, oil pulling, cooking, etc.
Avocado- This is used as a natural skin conditioner that leaves your hair feeling soft and healthy(yass!) It also prevents hair loss and helps with growth. Honestly, I can't eat avocado, the texture is just not for me, but after putting it in my hair, I found its purpose! It's packed with proteins and vitamins and amino acids. It also prevents split ends--I'd recommend a trim every few weeks or so and then apply this mask. My scalp is often very dry, very, very dry! I find that when I use some products, it causes build up and makes my scalp itchy. So this, it's perfect for all of my life!
I mixed 1 full banana, 1/4 coconut oil (I have solid coconut oil so I microwaved it to become liquid), and 1 avocado. Thanks to my Nutri bullet, I mixed it down to a creamy form and added some almond milk. The almond milk is optional, in case you decide to drink the mask afterward. Kidding! But it helps the base become a bit more creamy as opposed to a clumpy feel.
After that, I sectioned my hair into 4 parts and applied the mask. Leaving it on for about 30 minutes and carried on with other duties.

I didn't wear my hair out today, I wanted to keep the moisture locked in. But, this is how it looked right after the shower.
